| Dennis J. Rivera serves as the District Superintendent of the Central Latin American District of the Assemblies of God, with offices located in Denver, Colorado. He has served in this position since August of 2001. Prior to serving in this office. he served as the Senior Pastor of Evangel Assembly of God Church located in Cortez, Colorado from 1980 to 2001. Dennis served as pastor of El Sendero de La Cruz Assembly of God located in Pocatello, Idaho from 1977-1980. Dennis was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Latin American Bible Institute, El Paso, Texas in 1977 with a 3 year Diploma in Biblical Studies. Dennis later received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Pastoral Ministries from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas in May of 1996. He received his License to Preach from the General Council of the Assemblies of God, Springfield, Missouri in July of 1977. Dennis later received Ordination from the Assemblies of God in July of 1985. Dennis is married to Naomi and they make their home in Arvada, Colorado. They have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Dennis loves the outdoors and loves golf, hunt and fish. One of his favorite places is the San Juan mountains in southwest Colorado. His favorite scripture passage is Philippians 3:8-14 and in particular the phrase found in verse 8, "so that I may win Christ." Dennis' heart and passion is to see revival and awakening in the churches of the Central Latin American District and America.
